Scope of project:
This large mix-use development is set across 264-acre of land with build commencing in 2007 with 30% of homes dedicated to affordable housing. During build, phase 1 of the development did not see EV charging points installed so EV Park supported the property managers in a plan to introduce charging to the development in newly created communal EV charging zones.
Solution:
EV Park completed an on-site assessment and walkaround with the property management company to provide suitable locations for the introduction of EV charging zones. The installation consisted of an initial 2 x 7.4kW electric vehicle charging points installed into an area where new bays could be created with EV bay marking to ensure the limited number of visitor bays were not impacted.
Additional locations throughout the development have been identified for future expansion as demand for electric vehicles increases on-site. The EV Park data-led approach ensures sites do not over install assets without a genuine demand from EVdrivers.
EV Park will manage and operate the charging points with all maintenance costs being rolled into the EV tariff to avoid future expenditure to the service charge ensuring the project remains affordable to all.
Resident Engagement:
EV Park and the property management team provided pre-installation communication to all residents advising them of the installation and provided resident guides once the charging points were installed to ensure all residents could enjoy a simple charging process.
