Scope of project:
A large residential development with requests from residents for electric vehicle charging point facilities. The car park has circa 100+ bays available which are dedicated to residents with a small number of visitor bays available for communal use.
Solution:
EV Park completed a site survey to identify the power available using the landlord’s power supply. Following the survey, a proposal was created to propose installing 5 x electric vehicle charging points on a load management system. If one of the charging points are in use (per circuit) it will receive 22kW, as more cars plug in on the circuit, the power to each charging point will be shared to never exceed the total power allowed within the infrastructure to protect the main supply.
Through resident engagement, EV Park provided a communal network on our smart back-office system which provides live information on availability. This allows all residents with EVs to charge with confidence while giving residents looking to switch to EV, an easier decision as the infrastructure is in place and ready to use.
Project Learnings:
EV Park and our team of approved contractors discussed better ways to ensure access is made available on the day of installation so residents can start charging as soon as possible. This included the implementation of the resident’s guide which can be provided in advance of the installation being completed.
