Scope of project:
A large mixed use retirement village which has a demand for electric vehicle charging points for residents, staff and visitors. As residents have a mixed ability to use smart technologies, a clear and simple process is required.
Solution:
EV Park completed the initial site survey to identify the best locations for electric vehicle charging points in line with the fire safety guidance for the development. This meant charging points could not be installed within a certain distance from the building. EV Park provided a full design and quotation for the works which included the installation of a new local power supply in a lockable feeder pillar.
The installation saw 6 x electric vehicle charging points installed on 3 x dual free-standing posts. Each charging point post is installed on the perpendicular line with a guard rail to protect the charging points. Each charging point is rated at 7kW with the design also allowing for the future expansion of additional bays.
Resident Engagement:
EV Park held a coffee morning in partnership with the on-site management team to explain the EV charging and answer any questions the residents had. The EV Park team provided residents with support on the day to set up their accounts as well as literature being added to the library in the form of support guides.
